Revision of KATS safety notification - Implementation of Safety Inspection System of Reusable Battery

KATS has announced safety inspection system to support that batteries remaining 70% to 80% of residual capacity after used in electric vehicles can be safely reused in energy storage systems (ESS), camping power banks, etc., without being discarded. This safety inspection system will be enforced starting from October 19th.

KATS has completed the preparation of subsidiary regulations, including the designation of inspection agencies, getting liability insurance, and the imposition of fines for violations, in order to introduce a safety inspection system. They have also established safety standards for reusable batteries (KC 10031).
