Certification System Expert Conference on Strengthening EU Battery Regulations in Korea
The National Standards Institute, under the
Ministry of Industry and Trade, organized a conference on September 19th to
assist domestic companies in adapting to the EU's new battery regulations,
focusing on recycling and remanufacturing of used batteries.
Following the European Union's adoption of
regulations in July that comprehensively manage the entire life cycle of
batteries, including production, reuse, recycling, and remanufacturing within
the EU region, Korean companies currently exporting batteries to the EU are
actively preparing strategies to comply with these regulations.
At the conference, experts from various sectors discussed the details of EU
battery regulations, the status of domestic battery recycling and
remanufacturing technology, industry strategies for compliance, and government
support policies.
