What is the Conformity Assessment Scheme (SDoC) and What is Required?
1. What is the SDoC(Supplier’s
Declaration of Conformity) Scheme?
Since
July 24th, 2024, unlike traditional certification that requires RRA review, the
SDoC allows manufacturers or 3rd party labs to test products and register them
directly on the RRA site. It is essentially a notification-based system where
the supplier declares the product's conformity under their own responsibility.
Target
Products include:
- USB/Battery-powered household appliances, electric tools,
audio/video devices, and office products
- All lighting products
- Measuring, inspection, and testing equipment
- Railway and large-scale industrial products
2. Required Documentation
Submitted
to RRA: Application form(electronic method), external photos, and Power of
Attorney (POA).
retained
by local representative: SDoC form, POA, test reports, external
drawings/photos, Components/parts placement (components layout) drawing or
photos, and the User Manual.
Important
Note for Class A Equipment: Industrial and scientific radio frequency
application equipment, multimedia equipment, and office equipment must include
a mandatory warning in the manual stating: "This device has been evaluated
for use in a work environment. Use in a home environment may cause radio
interference.”
3. Labeling & SDoC Form Requirements
On Product/Package: KC Mark, Model Name, and Management Number (Company Code-Product Code).
In User Manual/SDoC: Applicant name, product name, manufacturing date, Manufacturer and manufacturing country, and the RRA website link.
