Korea has strengthened KC safety standards for e-scooter batteries, adding overdischarge and overcurrent testing requirements. The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) announces plans to revise safety standards for lithium-ion portable batteries (KC 62133-2) used in e-scooters to enhance consumer protection against fire accidents. The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) has revised the KC safety standards for Protective helmets for vehicular users to align them with products currently distributed in the market under Notification No. 2026-031 .
