Revision of the Criteria for Tablet PCs
Subject to Electrical Appliances Safety Confirmation
• Increase in the Diagonal Screen Size
Criterion: 17 cm → 20 cm or more
※ Addresses
the issue of smartphones with screen sizes of 17 cm or more (e.g., Galaxy Ultra
series) being classified as tablet PCs.
Revision of Self-Inspection Test Items for
Cells Subject to Electrical Appliances Safety Certification
• Overcurrent
Charging Test → Crush Test
※ Harmonization of Test Items with the Current Safety Standard (KC 62133-2)
※ The cells subject to safety certification are limited to lithium-based cells with an energy density of 700 Wh/L or higher and a maximum charging voltage of 4.4 V or higher, intended for use in smartphones, notebook computers, and tablet PCs.
