Korea Proposes MVDC International Standards at the IEC General Meeting

The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) participated in the 2024 IEC General Meeting (Oct 21-25, Edinburgh) and proposed the creation of a new Technical Committee (TC) for Medium Voltage Direct Current (MVDC) standards.

 

This initiative follows the selection of MVDC technology—proposed by Korea in May—as a key area for future standardization by the IEC.

 

🔑 Key Achievement:
Korea has secured a strong position to take on the TC secretariat role for future MVDC standardization efforts.
