Korea's Notice of Amendment to Safety Confirmation Standards for Infant High Chairs
The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy has announced a proposed amendment to enhance the safety standards for infant high chairs. This amendment aims to improve testing methods and update related standards to ensure greater safety for infants.
1. Purpose of the Amendment
The proposed amendment seeks to enhance the content of the lateral stability safety test method specified in Part 1 (High Chairs for Infants) of the safety standards.
2. Key Details of the Amendment
- Improvement in Testing Procedure:
The position where equipment (beam) is fixed to the chair during the lateral stability test under Clause 5.9.2 of Section 5.9 (Stability Test) will be added.
- Alignment with Related Standards:
Updates will be made to align the safety standards with recent amendments to the Common Safety Standards for Children’s Products.
How to Submit Your Opinions
Opinions on the proposed amendment will be accepted until December 16, 2024.
