Raised RF Power Limits for 6 GHz Indoor Wi-Fi in Korea (Effective Immediately)

To support the advancement of wireless communication technologies and the development of new industrial infrastructure, the current unlicensed wireless equipment (Radio equipment for radio stations that can be established without reporting) has been partially revised under Notification No. 2026-9.



The amendment relaxes the indoor RF power limits for wireless access systems, including Wi-Fi devices operating in the 6GHz frequency band. The changes took effect immediately upon promulgation on February10,2026.


Key changes

  • 59256425MHz band: Antenna Input Power Density or EIRP ≤1W

- Wireless devices used inside subway train cars and inside buildings

- Including antenna absolute gain

  • 64257125MHz band: Antenna Input Power Density or EIRP ≤500mW

- Wireless devices used inside buildings

- Including antenna absolute gain
