Amendment to Safety Standards for Household Goods in Korea

Amendment to Safety Standards for Household Goods in Korea

To enhance safety management practices for household goods, new amendments have been announced to the Safety Standards for Compliance Household Goods. These revisions aim to align safety regulations with the varying levels of risk associated with specific products, ensuring more effective oversight.

  1. Motorized Board
    • The "motorized board" has been reclassified from Supplier Conformity Confirmation Household Goods to Safety Standard Compliance Household Goods.
    • This adjustment reduces the safety management burden for motorized boards.
  2. Engine-Off Heater
    • The "engine-off heater" is now included under the Safety Standard Compliance Household Goods category.
    • This addition introduces stricter safety measures for this product type.

Article 2, Paragraph 2 has been revised to include two new items:

Item 26: Annex 26 (Motorized Board)

Item 27: Annex 27 (Engine-Off Heater)

These updated standards will come into effect one year after their announcement date.
