Korea RRA, Administrative Notice on Partial Amendment of Technical Standards for Wireless Equipment

RRA issued an administrative notice on February 17, 2025, announcing a partial amendment to the technical standards for business-use wireless equipment, including simple radio stations, space stations, earth stations, and radio detection equipment.


Key Amendments

• Establishment of technical standards for IoT device transceivers to enable the use of IoT in the Integrated Public Network (Disaster Safety Communication Network) operated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

• Establishment of standards for drone detection radar, including its definition, occupied frequency bandwidth to minimize interference, and spurious emissions.

• Establishment of regulations to allow the limited use of analog radios only in safety-critical situations, such as for shipyard crane operations.


Deadline for submitting opinions: April 18, 2025
