Korea has eased its certification criteria for industrial wireless charging equipment. As of March 27, 2025, the Ministry of Science and ICT has relaxed the certification standard for wireless chargers used in ICT devices such as commercial and industrial robots — increasing the allowable output from 50W to 1kW.

In addition, location-based installation permits are no longer required. Instead, products can now be certified through a model-based conformity assessment, allowing businesses to adopt the technology more quickly and easily.

Wireless power transmission devices up to 1kW have also been newly designated as subject to Korea’s conformity assessment system under the Radio Waves Act. This applies to commercial, light industrial, and industrial environments.

📌 Certification Scope:
• Wireless power transmission devices ≤1kW
• Commercial, light industrial, and industrial use
• Subject to Korea’s Radio Waves Act and conformity assessment procedures

📅 Effective from: March 27, 2025
