Child-Resistant Packaging: South Korea to Clarify Notification Fees

South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) is proposing an amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act.

The amendment aims to clarify the fee structure for child-resistant packaging notifications—a process for which the relevant fee provisions had previously been omitted from the Enforcement Decree.

Clarified Fee Structure:

  • Notification of Child-Resistant Packaging: KRW 50,000 for a confirmation certificate.
  • Changes to Existing Notification: KRW 10,000 per instance for a revised confirmation certificate.
