South Korea Revises Standard Voltage Tolerance Range

On June 13, 2025, South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) issued an amendment to increase the permissible deviation for the standard 220 V supply voltage to ±22 V. This change brings South Korea’s voltage standards in line with international practices, improving operational efficiency throughout the country’s electrical infrastructure.

This rule takes effect immediately upon promulgation.
