Stricter password requirements are going to be implemented for IP cameras


Stricter password requirements are going to be implemented to image information processing devices(including IP cameras) on Feb. 20, 2026.

The password required for image information processing devices shall meet the following conditions:
  • The password shall consist of at least 8 characters using a combination of 3 types among uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, or at least 10 characters using a combination of 2 types.
  • If the password is entered incorrectly a certain number of consecutive times (up to 5 times), access shall be blocked for a certain period of time (30 seconds to 60 minutes).
