Korea RRA to Implement New AeroMACS Technical Standards in December 2025

On December 22, 2025, the National Radio Research Agency (RRA) finalized and announced the revised Technical Standards for Aeronautical Radio Equipment. This amendment establishes new technical standards for AeroMACS (Aeronautical Mobile Airport Communications System) in alignment with international standards.

The revised standards took effect on December 22, 2025, the date of notification.

  • Establishment of AeroMACS (Mobile communication radio equipment used on the ground within airports for air traffic purposes)
  • Use of 5,091 MHz – 5,150 MHz frequency band (5 GHz band)

Technical standards remain identical to the previously announced draft.
