1. Approval Type

E-standby: Applies to products such as Printer, Copy machine, Scanner, Audio device, Microwave oven, Door phone, Corded and cordless telephone, Server, and Router(with both wired & wireless interfaces).

Standby power warning mark

  • When the e-standby requirements are not met
  • This product does not meet the standby power reduction requirement(translation of the warning statement)
  • Standby power warning labeling products are registered on the KEA website.
  • The marking shall be placed on the front, top, nameplate, or other visible part of the product so that it is easily noticeable by consumers.

3. Submission of the annual report to KEA

  • Local manufacturers and importers shall submit a production/import and sales performance report annually

➡ GCA KOREA does this service and submits the performance report annually

  • Each model shall be registered

- Additional measurements are not required for the series models that do not affect the standby power measurement results

Common Compliance Pitfalls:

  • Mandatory Warning Labels for Substandard Products: If the product fails to meet the standby power standards, it must carry a warning label
  • Improper Label Placement: Labels must be clearly visible to consumers (e.g., front, top, or on the nameplate).
  • Failure to Meet the 60-Day Filing Deadline: Manufacturers and importers must test their products according to official technical standards and report the results to KEA within 60 days.

Consequences of Non-Compliance: Non-compliance can lead to substantial fines, administrative sanctions, and sales prohibition orders.
