Korea Proposes Raising RF Power Limits for 6 GHz Wi Fi

On January 8, 2026, the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) issued Announcement No. 2026-16, proposing an amendment to the current MSIT Notification of unlicensed wireless equipment. The amendment aims to ease the RF power limits for the 6GHz frequency band used by the latest Wi-Fi technologies.


Public opinions will be received until January 28, 2026.



Key proposed change

Increasing indoor RF power for 6 GHz frequency band in wireless devices for wireless access systems, including Wi-Fi.
