KC Certification RRA Conformity Certification Korea overview

Certification of Conformity

Conformity Certification is one of the approval types under the Radio Research Agency (RRA) Conformity Assessment Scheme, and it is a mandatory certification applied to devices with a high risk of radio interference or those closely related to human safety.

1. Target Devices

Mostly wireless devices (wireless microphone, mobile phone (LTE, WCDMA), base station, repeater, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth products (certification or registration), RFID (900MHz), Implantable wireless device, Keyfob, 5G NR (3.5GHz & 28GHz) etc.) and wired equipment (digital CATV set-top box etc.)

Important Notes for Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Products

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth products may be subject to either certification or registration, if SAR testing is not required. However, certification is mandatory when SAR testing is required.

2. Key Process

Testing
Tested by designated test labs. (including Korea-MRA labs. in USA)

Review
Review by RRA for 5 working days (or less)

3. Required Documents

Application Form (electronic method)

Korean User Manual

- Includes product overview, specifications (including RF), components, operating instructions, etc.

Test Reports (EMC, RF, SAR (if necessary))

External Drawing or Photos

- Clearly showing the front and rear sides of the product, connection interfaces, and label

Components/Parts Placement (Layout) Drawing or Photos

- Possible to see part number and/or specifications

Schematics

Antenna Specifications (for radio equipment)

POA (Power of Attorney)

4. Labeling Requirements

The following information shall be indicated on the product or its packaging.

KC Mark

Product Name

Model Name

KC ID (e.g., R-C-Company Code-Product Code)

Applicant (Certificate Holder) Name

Manufacturing Date (year and month or Lot number composed of year and month of manufacture)

Manufacturer and Manufacturing Country (Country of Origin)
