  Korea's First Domestic Production of Rare-Earth Permanent Magnets for Electric Vehicle Motors   KC Mark Korea Certification |  Automotive Components 'Neodymium (Nd)-based rare-earth permanent magnets,' the crucial components for electric vehicle motors, are now domestically produced for the first time at the newly inaugurated Hyunpung plant.   The Hyunpung plant is expected to produce around 1,000 tons of rare-earth permanent magnets annually, reducing dependency on overseas sources, particularly China. KATS (Korean Agency for Technology and Standards) - Request to Halt Procurement of 58 Non-Compliant Products, Including Skateboards, for Safety Standards As the demand for overseas direct purchasing and proxy purchasing has increased in online malls in Korea, the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards conducted safety inspections on 404 products, including skateboards, snowboards, and hair dryers. The results of the investigation revealed that out of the 404 products under scrutiny, 58 were found to be non-compliant with safety standards. Among consumer goods, 24 products received non-compliance judgments, including skateboards that broke during drop tests and snowboards with inadequate strength.
